Default new engine

As some of you may know i blew up my motor. Im getting a new one put in and they have it there now. He said its gonna take one more day becouse they gotta switch the timing covers.
becouse " it must be out of somthing other then a mustang" when i told hin it needs to be out of a mustang he said it was just out of a differnt mustang.
i was thinking it must be a mid 01 and up motor.
is there any way they could put a 4.6 out of anything esle in there with out doing a lot of work?
and could they put a non pi motor in there and have the coil packs and my plenum on it?

I agree you need full discloser, I would ask for the engine year, mileage and what car it was taken out of. You dont want them to be putting in a engine with 110,000 miles that your paying a few thousand for when they got it for a few hundred.

Yeah from the sounds of it youre getting a non PI motor.

And what kind of insurance do you have that youre getting this done?

As stated above, you are footing the bill - directly or indirectly. Your insurance exists only because you pay for it. They may even decide to increase your premiums after this claim is honored. You getmy drift? Get a detailed invoice from the auto shop. Demand that they give you something in writing. Whatever the mechanic tells you, get it in writing. If he can 't recall the exact mileage or where the motor came from, get that **** in writing from him. This is for your protection. Lastly, notify your insurance company of yourconcerns. Chances are, if he's bull******* you, he 's probably doing the same to them.

If they try and put a non PI motor in wont the coils not have a place to bolt up?
and will the compter work for both?
they are taking my timming cover off my 99 PI motor and putting it on new motor(?) if the new motor is a non pi will the timming chain cover fit?

I asked him if it was the tenstionor pully that its differnt and he said yea

think it could be a mid 01 though 04?

And what kind of insurance do you have that youre getting this done?

I hit a big puddle and my CAI sucked up water and bent a rod

why would you let someone put in a npi motor when your car had a pi motor to start with? this is going to be a significant power decreaser when you had a decent platform to start with. i wouldnt do it. but thats just my o2.
