Default will it blow my engine?

I'm pretty sure i'm gonna be gettin a vortech v-1 s trim non- intercooled supercharger kit on my 01 mustang GT. The only thing making me hesitate is that i only have a few bolt on engine mods so i'm not too sure i won't blow my motor even at 8 psi. Will i blow it up if i don't add any major mods?

As long as you're hovering around 400rwhp, no. 8psi + boltons isn't gonna be near 450rwhp, which is the generally agreed upon limit of the bottom end.

Intercool it, though.

Yeah as long as your below 450rwhp you should be fine. Be sure you get it tuned by someone with a good reputation.

have 11psi on my stock internal ride. just get a good tune. Detonation is your enemy

Everything I've read says to keep the boost to 6-8 psi if you do not have an intercooler. That should get you 340-350 rwhp but you will need a good tune to prevent detonation.

P.S. How high you can go depends upon the other supporting mods that you have. I'm not sure I would try to get to 400 rwhp with a non-intercooled supercharger. I also wouldn't go above 400 using boost alone. If your car is a daily driver, every tuner I've talked to has said to stay around the 370-380 rwhp range.

There are no gaurantees. Engines have blown up on the dyno at 350 rwhp.
