UNBOLTING THE EXHAUST? and what GEARS?
so my friend jr is running a little low on cash, he has a 01 gt with stock exhaust and he asked me if he should unbolt his exhaust after the stock h pipe.... i told him i had no clue but he might lose some hp/tq..... he doesnt believe me and i am not exactly sure so i am asking the pro's lol....
what are the pro's and con's of unbolting your stock exhaust???
aslo another ?, i have a 02 5spd.... what gears are best... it has a programmer, jlt intake, and c&l Plenum and Throttle body with a upr off road x and flow 40's.... i hear to go with 3:73 ... and i hear go with 4:10's .... so what is the best, and i was also considering going with the MOTIVE 3:90's..... WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINIK.... t

RE: UNBOLTING THE EXHAUST? and what GEARS?
you would probably lose some power down low if unbolting after the h, and maybe gain very very little up high.
gears, depends on how far you need to drive and if mpg concerns you. 3.90 sounds to me like a good option as its right in the middle of what you are looking for. i am looking for some 3.90s too.

Unbolting after the h-pipe will do nothing for hp/tq. You have to change the overall diameter of the exhaust pipes as a whole to do anything.
But it will sound like ****.
