Anyone running e-85 fuel through their pony? Ron from foxlake said that with my 10.1 compression i can boost as high as 15lbs with a blower. IM just curious if its a difficult swap and cost.

if its your daily i wouldnt recommend switching to e85. yes it burns cleaner but you think your mileage sucks now, wait til you run e85. it takes more money to get the same mileage of regular gas with e85. so if its just a weekend cruiser or racer i would do it. but not on a daily. not worth it

As of right now it is a daily and i do get horrible gas mileage. Im still debating whether to keep it daily or not, but if it takes more money then it isnt worth it.

i think its a great idea. but its just not financially feasible at this moment in time. they are working on bringing the prices down via converting plant material and other items into useable materials to make ethanol. and it will be cheaper when those systems come on line. but as of right now its kinda like paying diesel prices to get the same mileage as regular high test.
I've been following this for years and love the idea. The price has to come down and the demand has to go up. I think within the next 3-5years the prices will drop enough so that it is actually cost effective to fill up with it instead of 93octane. More stations need to offer it to make that a reality though.

I'm not going to even look into Ethanol until they start mass producing it from a non food product. It has potential but not the way they are doing it now.

check out Gulf Ethanol and Pacific Ethanol. they are both getting away from Feedstock derived materials. both have new systems up and running in the testing process. with the new system it will make the fuel more stable for shipping without adverse effects by the time it reaches its destination. very cool stuff. and yes im a nerd when it comes to this sorta stuff.

We need to make it form sugar cane... It is way more effective than corn and grows ridiculously fast. But unfoutunatly the mid-west is not sutable for growing mass amounts of sugar cane.

I have also been reading on cellulosic ethanol. If they were able to mainstream something more like this, it could be worth it.
