Suspension...
I'm going to have to replace some bushings in my front end. What's it's basically come down to is the rack and pinion bushings are out. I'm probably just going to spend and get an energy suspension bushing kit to cover the whole front end. Problem is to do all that, I'll have to invest in an alignment. that right there is 65$ for the bushings and 69$ for the alignment. I figure, throw in some springs and get the bushing kit that has the proper offsets.
So I'm getting C springs, a bushing kit, doing the install myself, but having Jensen Tire and Auto handle the alignment afterwards. Altogether I'm looking at spending 134$, and if I am going to spend that I might as well make it an investment towards a lowering, so another 152$ towards my springs and I'll have myself an upgrade instead of just a repair.
And this is why I'm going with a lower, but is there anything else I should be replacing while doing that?

Just wanted to bump this, is there anything else I should invest in to avoud damage or anything, or something that's relatively cheap that I should replace while I've got the car jacked up?
my $.02 - and take it as you will.
I assume you are going to do this (except the allignment) yourself. If you will be replacing a lot of these bushings and springs, etc - why not go through and replace ball joints and tie rod ends? Not sure how many miles on your vehicle, but you might be OK. I would also look at the brake pads and rotors. MUCH easier to do everything while its all assembled.

If you have a Firestone shop near you it would be in your best interests to purchase their LifeTime alignment plan. for my 07 gti (now gone) it was like 130 with tax. could get it aligned every day if you wanted to. lol its the best bang for the buck if you plan on keeping the vehicle for a extended period of time and want to swap out suspension a few times.
