Default Tb and plenum

my stock plenum is ported and polished with stock throttle body. with the mods done to my car at this point will an aftermarket tb & plenum be worth the money. I want to put cams and DR's when i get my tax refund next year. I mean my car does not hook at all right now anyways. hopfully DR's will help untill i can afford som susp. mods.I ran a guy with a 99 gt that has the same stuff done to his car that i have but he has stock gears. he does however have trickflow tb and plenum and DR's. from off the line he eats me up but from a 10mph roll i get him by about 1&1/2 cars. your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

it will help barely. i noticed very little if any gain. i did notice faster throttle response but thats about it. go with a tuner X2 or X3 and get it custom tuned. you'll notice a much bigger difference(kinda like the 4.10s). unless you want to supercharge/spray her....then just def save up for that!

TB and plenum will add quite a bit of torque at WOT, across the board. All aftermarket plenums are 5/8" to 3/4" taller than the OEM plenum which allows for the cross sectional area of the "elbow" to be quite a bit larger.Porting and polishing the stock plenum makes it pretty, but it cannot make the internal dimensions larger to any great degree. Here are Accufab's flow bench numbers for various combinations of TB and plenum, you can see that the OEM plenum is the weakest link. With the 65 mm stock TB, all butthe worst performing plenum (the C&L) could flow more air than thestock plenum with a 75 mm TB.

on an older muscle mustang magazine i have, theytested c&l, trick flow, accufab, and steeda plenums and they were all with in 2 hp of each otheron the same engines. so given the price differance, between the accufab and the c&l i would say the accufab might not be so hot, it looks a lot better than the c&l but thats on the persons taste.
