If you want to stay standard which I'm assuming you do, you have four options: t45, tko 500, tko 600, or t56. The best being the t56 in my opinion. some don't consider the t45 an upgrade from what you have. To swap to a tko 500/600 you're looking at just under $2k and to go to a t56 just over $2k. the tko's are 5 speeds and they're tough as nails. the t56 is a 6 speed and good to about 500 hp.

i just want a very smooth tranny that can still use the same clutch as the 3650 reason being mine only has about 3000 miles on it

If your tranny is still driveable, keep driving it and start saving. You can also surf the classifieds of all the forums and ebay. Sometimes you can pick up some pretty cheap stuff, but there is no really cheap way out. You can use your clutch on any of the trannies I mentioned, but you will also need a few odds and ends to do a swap. Good luck and keep us posted. You might want to look on some of the cobra forums since a tranny upgrade is quite common on the cobras since the stocker on pre-03/04 cobras are notorious for not holding up. Just think about it, yours is going out at 90k with 220hp, the cobra have an equally crappy tranny and 305hp, they just don't last very long.

By the way http://www.ddperformance.com/ is way over priced and they're not very helpful unless you're buying through them.

well 1800 for the tko 500 is about what im finding for most trannys but my major annoyance is the front bearing knocking like crazy esp after i drive it a lil but i might just deal with it and drive it til the bia gets finished.....id much rather buy wheels, programmer, pullys, and get the front of my car painted because of 1000's of chips
