hahahahahahaha dont listen to this guy. its obvious you dont have the predator.$400 dollars to remap timing and fuel curves, shift firmness, points, torque modulation, and yes gears not to mention all the other things it lets you do.go to diablosport.com and check it out. and your telling this guy to spend 200 or so dollars to get 1 or 2 horsepower on the top end of the rpm curve. i say spend two hundred more and get 15-20rwhp(advertised) or 10-15rwhp(more like it) more depending on mods.get a grip dude tb's are not worth the money. a tb and plenum might get you 5 hp if you got the other mods to go with it.must be getting his money from his momma because he sure not working for it to get 1 or 2 horsepower for 200 dollars

A TB alone will only net your 2-3 rwhp at best on a stock engine. But combine a 75mm with a plenum and you get at around 7-8 rwhp on a stock engine. C&L did a test where a mildly modded GT gained 14 rwhp.[:-] That is pretty good in my book.....but the tb ALONE is not worth the money.

right on devin but at this point our guy is not what you call even mildly modded i just believe he needs to go with ta,pulleys, programmer,x pipe, but not programmer and ta both the diablo lets you advanve on your own timing with a push of a few buttons. he may be on a tight budget like many of us and a tb is just not the way to go

Yeah, that's why I have saved the tb/plenum mod for last. It seems to cost a lot of money for the hp gains you get......I have pulleys and a tune left to do and that's it for the hp bolt-ons.
Yeah this dude needs to go for a new mid-pipe or tuner for sure right now!

Dude. deep breaths.

I don't have the time to check every thread 3-4 times.

You are correct, there are MUCH better mods out there. Although, he asked about t/b brands, to which you told him to buy a tuner.
shift firmness,points,torque modulation
< Only applicable to autos....wherefore I said:
AND you have an automatic transmission.
We're making the same points, in a sense.

$400 is a lot of money compared to a $120 t/b (mac 70mm, www.partshopper.com) Some people like them, I prefer and reccomend dyno tunes, to PROFESSIONALLY re-map timing and fuel curves to support the rest of your mods. As Devin said, he's doing his mods, THEN a tune.

10-15rwhp(more like it)
Show me a dyno tune on a near-stock GT where 15rwhp was gained. It's not going to happen. All it does (excluding transmission functions) in general, is add timing.

In conclusion: I like the mac t/b's. Not as much bling, but a good throttle response mod, despite the fact that the dyno may only show 2-3rwhp PEAK gain. Combined with an intake, MAF, plenum ($130 trick flow) will make some nice power gains that can really be felt, not just read on the dyno.

peace then i just happened to list the programmer first i also listed ta $139 for a stedda even lower for a piggyback style which i would not buy, pulleys $169 steeda, etc...i just got pissed because you took a shot at me with your first comment. me and my buddies have modded about 12 99-04 gt's (na) and a tb is not the way to go i believe 8 of those actually lost hp in the low range to only make up for it in the 5500 rpm range.

I could see that happening without a full exhaust if you went with a 75mm setup.
