2003 GT auto - transmission/shifter issue
well, i've had this car for close to 4 years now and ive not once had an issue with the transmission up until today
I was getting ready to leave work. I started the car, went to shift from Park to Drive, and the button wouldnt depress and the shifter wouldnt budge. Now on my other car, I really need to push the brake pedal in hard before the shifter will allow you to move it from park to drive or reverse, so i tried pushing in the brake all the way and still couldnt budge the shifter.
so i shut the car off, but had the keys in the 'primed' position if you will...where the radio is still on...and i the button depressed just fine, and the shifter moved freely. So i put the car into Nuetral, started it from there and put it in drive and drove away fine.
after I got home I tried again and again to move the shifter from the Park position to reverse or drive WITH the car on, and it still wont budge. The car needs to be off and started from neutral.
has anyone ever heard of such a problem before? Its a minor inconvenience that doesnt bother me THAT much, but i want to fix it if its the symptom of a bigger issue...
