installed spec clutch...help?
i just installed a spec stage 1 clutch with new pilot bearing, and FRPP TOB. ive been driving on it for 220miles now and when im cruising it makes a loud buzzing noise but when i let off gas it goes away. it sounds just like a tob. is this normal? there is a chance that i accidentally mixed up frpp tob and spec tob.doh! the extra tob (suppost to be spec) has acc stamped on the bottom. anyone recognize it as either spec or ford? i may be just paranoid and need to let everything seat but i dont think it should be making this noise. im no amatuer when it comes to cars ive installed a hand full of clutches before and never had problems like this, but they were all import (nissans, honda). any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

I installed a spec stage 2 clutch in my mustang and i also hear a spinning noise, ive got about 550 miles on it now and it still sounds the same. it drives great i just hear the noise. it does the same thing, when u let off gas u dont hear it and when clutch is disengaged u dont hear it.. and it gets louder the higher the gear.. 5th sounds nasty lol... i have no idea what it is..

After my Spec stage 2 was installed, the TOB (brand new ford OEM part) started to squeak. Its annoying, but the car is louder than the squeak. I think I need to adjust the cable a bit.
I think it just comes with the territory of replacing the clutch with an aftermarket one. I was worried there was something wrong after I replaced my clutch with a stage 2, but the performance shop that did is said that there is more of a transfer of noise with the new clutch because it has a harder surface and doesn´t dampen the sound as much as a stocker. You may just be hearing normal drivetrain noise that is being amplified with the harder surface of the newer clutch.
