Default Just bought my first stang, Where do I begin as far as mods?

So I just bought my first Mustang last week. Its a 2000 Gt, and is a 5 speed. The guy I bought it from had already put a treemek transmission, BBK headers, 373 gears, and flomaster exaust kit on the car.

(Now bear in mind this isn't just my first mustang, its my first car period, and I have a lot to learn.)

As far as future modifications where do I begin? Im guessing mabe a cold air intake? Or something like that?

Like I said, as far as other modifications, I'm kind of clue less, any help would be appreciated. Any other advice as far as brands and things like that would help to

Thanks

do you know whether the BBK's are longtube headers or shorties? if they are shorties, check and see if you have the stock midpipe... if so i would swap that first, if they are longtubes, he has already swapped the midpipe. after that, i would probably suggest a throttle body and plenum, lowering springs, tune, or save up for a supercharger

If you want to drag race, get some Drag radials. If I had bought my car at that point, I would have just went for looks and sound.

What do you mean tremec? don't they use those stock on the 00 GT's as well? Or do you mean the TR3650? Either way, I would strongly recommend getting the MGW STS. It isn't a power adder but hey your using the shifter consistantly everytime you drive your car, you mightaswell get a MUCH better one. If you have the T45 then the shift stops can help.

And get a CAI. You said you have 3.73's, was your speedometer recalibrated? Was the car therefore tuned as well?

Then you would of just got a V6 haha. Might as well have it all with the v8 car, anyways take some time getting used to it before you start doing more stuff to it, I know my almost stock 96 GT was like the fastest thing I was in for awhile till I started learning new things.

Do you know of any mustang dyno-tuners in your area??? If yes, than get a dyno tune...and definitely a better shifter.

I didn't say it would stay there. I said i would of worried about other things first. I make more than enough power now, but if had more to start i would have had concentrated on stuff other than speed.

It sounds like all the basic stuff is done except a CAI and as was suggested a good dyno tune to take advantage of the parts combination on the car. Use an SCT X-Cal II for tuning.

I'd look into some rims and and a mountain dew.... ok seriously rims and then some heat. Save up for a S/C. It'll be well worth it.
