Default Spark Plug Question

So what would happen if i had the 96-98 spark plugs in my 99-04 cylinder heads? would it cause it to misfire or run fairly rough?

If they are damaged or fouled yes they could cuase the car to run rough. But you could also have bad wires or coils cuasing it to run rough. As far as i know those spark plugs would work fine. But i would make sure there the updated version with the longer thread on the spark plug.

what do you mean by longer thread on the spark plug? so the plugs from a 98 will work in the new edge even if they have different part numbers?
