Comp Cams ???
I am considering getting some Comp cams stage 2 installed. Like to know ball park estimate what it will all cost in parts and labor. I know I need new valve springs with stage 2, but are gears absolutely necessary? I want to keep the cost as low as possible since I am on a budget this year. My mods include K&N cold air intake, 75mm Throttle body/plenum, underdrive pullies, diablo tune, magnaflow x pipe and magnapack exhaust. Any help is appreciated.

No, stock cam gears are perfectly fine. Are you referring to the Comp 270 cams? If so, they MUST be properly degreed, or you'll run into PTV issues. If you haven't bought them yet, I suggest you get them directly from COMP and ask them to grind the cams without the 4* advance that they typically do.
You're looking at ~$500 to have the cams installed and degreed, and ~$100 to have the springs installed.

Cam gears? I was told I needed at least 3:73 rear end gears. I have stock gears 3:27 I think. I dont know much and am gathering as much information I can so I appreciate the input and apologize for sounding like a noobie ;( Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking around $500 installed , but do you know how many hrs it would take?? 5-6 maybe? How about a retune and will I run into major drivability issues?
