Not really needed on a stock hood. I got a pair of Moroso for my stalker hood that everybody likes. The only problem is you will probably get some rust. I say go with a hood pin appearance kit and see how you like it before you cut a hole in your hood and can't go back.

I had bought a set of locking pins (the ones with keys, and sit flush with the hood; they engage after you turn the key) for a previous car (because I really needed them; hood latch was bad and hood flew open), after having them, they did not look secure at all; they would have done nothing for me. If you are going to do something, go with the type of pins that have a cotter pin going through them. I put those in and they worked perfect and looked good till I sold the car. An extra step I took was to buy some rubber gromets from the hardware store, put silicone around the drilled edges, slapped the gromets on along with some oversized rubber washers to go under the chrome metal ones, and perfect... no rust and perfect functunality. Wish I would have taken some pics though
