Default nitrous question

im thinking about using nitrous the only thing that comes to my head is if it will distroy my engine, bc people keep telling me not to use it bc it will damage it is that true? i was thinking about a wet kit with 75 shot. would that be safe?

I ran a 100 wet shot on my car for a year with zero problems with track and some street use. I would not go anymore than a 125 shot on a sohc unless the motor was biult. A 75 shot would be fine. Just make sure you only spray from 2500rpm-3krpm on at WIDE OPEN THROTTLE ONLY! Never just cruising.
I didn't have a window switch i just had the wot switch and i made damn sure to spray at the right rpm's . A window switch will make sure you spray in a certain rmp range and stop just before red line, cuz you don't want to spray in red line.
Make sure your bottle pressure is between about 800-1100, i like to stay around 950ish.
Get a purge kit to purge before you spray, so you know that you have nitrous in the line.
Get a blow down tube if racing at the track.
A bottle heater is a good idea, cuz you can keep the bottle at the right psi.
A window switch is a really good thing to have and will keep you from fn up if you miss a gear.
Nitrous is more of a sudden jolt on your engine than a supercharger or turbocharger. It is harder on you engine, but isn't going to destroy it after 100 plus runs if used right.
I would not use it on an engine with around 100k miles on it.
Also colder plugs are a must.
Retard the timing 2 degrees for every 50hp shot. Some people don't and haven't had any problems on a 100 shot but i would just in case.
seems like alot but it really isn't. Just have to know what you doing.
People get scared of nitrous cuz they don't understand it. Doing research and knowing what the engine will handle is the first start to a safe and very useable nitrous experience.
