Default 98 computer on a 97

i have a 97 GT.i want to swap the computer so i will have 225Hp instead of @15 plus i heard that the 98 was better.is it ok just to swap it or it is not possible?

That is one of the worst ideas ever. No, kidding, but it's SO not worth it for a claimed 10hp.

depends. if you can get one for like cheao then do it. if it doesnt work you lost like $10 bucks if it does youve gained like 10hp and have provided the rest of with valueable knowledge

All that wiring for 10hp? I bet stock they dyno 3-4hp different. I'm sure car to car variation is more hp than 97 vs 98.

it is not only for the 10hp.i read somewhere that the 98 computer was better at handling latter mod on the car like exhaust,TB,porting ect...

You must first understang that a 96-97 ARE NOT the same as 98. there is more than just a PCM change. lol. They didnt just decide... Hmm... lets tune the computer a lil better to get 10hp. lol. I dont even think youre car will run with the 98 PCM in it. Different fuel systems.
