fixed!
well the ford dealership was able to fix my GT whilst i was away in upstate NY for work.
the whistling noise when i reached 3000rpm turned out to be something with the heater core so they replaced it and some hoses.
the low coolant warning light turned out to be a faulty sensor in the reservoir so they're going to fix that too. i had to pick the car up so i could go to work but i'm dropping it off again when i leave for DC on thursday.
and the fog lights were getting water in them causing the bulbs to burst and the system to short out.
all this for 100 bucks..........get the extended warranty.
