Default fuel pressure at 29 idleing

like the post says got my fuel pressure gauge hooked up along with my low pressure fuel switch for my nx kit and at idle it is 29 when i goose it, it goes to about 15 then to 40 real quick guess its time for a new pump. any ideas or is it just old i have noticed that sometimes it is hard to start have to cycle it a few times. this is on a o1 5 spd also i put in a new fuel filter last week

It should be around 29-33 at idle with vacuum (40-43 without vacuum). It should never drop below 29 so it sounds like you have a part of your fuel system dying. Check the volts on the fuel pump.

Does sound like your fuel pump is on its way out from what your saying. Are you having any other problems besides the hard start and the pressure droping?
