CAI vs. RAI vs. drop-in Intake
I have an 03 GT and only plan on doing intake/full exhaust on the car (for now, potential cam down the road but not for atleast 6 months). My question is, is a CAI really worth it ($200+)? Is it much better than a RAI ($180)? What gains have people seen with just the k&n drop in filter ($50)?
These are just random numbers, but does this seem right (on a intake/exhaust GT)?
CAI + 8 hp
RAI + 6
drop-in + 5
Just trying to get my $$ worth. The RAI looks the best but honestly I don't want to spend an additional $100+ if there aren't any hp gains.

+1, CAI and RAI are def more for looks than performance on our cars. IMO the are not worth the $$$ unless you want the look.

I wouldn't spend 200 on an intake if I were to do it over. having said that, I have a basically brand new K&N drop in if you want to take it off my hands. I got the JLT RAI...might make a little more noise than stock..hp gain? I don't know man...even 5rwhp out of that thing seems like a big stretch. I'd save your money and put it towards exhaust.
