piston ring orientation
so i got the piston & rod info i needed, now does anyone know how to place the rings on the pistons, whAT I mean is , the spacing of the 1 and 2 rings relative to the piston itself??

When I was a mechanic eons ago I learned to keep the ring gaps I believe 90 deg. from each other & keep the gaps on the opposite side as the thrust side of the piston. Back then in school(factory) they said the edges of the rings would actually cut into the cylinder walls. I would hope if that was the case someone would have thought of rounding off those edges so this wouldn't happen since then. Just don't line them all up, stagger them & you should be ok.
