Smile BPV placement...

Is there any difference in installing the BPV opposite it's original suggested installed position?

My tuner had told me to install mine under the tube that directly connects to the T/B and not into the S/C inlet tube. It's way, after the fact and I didn't have any issues but I was just wondering what peoples thoughts on it were on that placement.

thanks

Are you talking about the PCV? The BPV has to go in the intake tube.

if you are talking about the bpv aka bypass valve, have you considered just running a blow through setup?

Wait, what? Your BPV should already be mounted to your intake pipe and most like vents into your s/c inlet with you maf sensor before. Your other option would be for the maf sensor to be after your BPV but either way your BPV is after the s/c

As I was typing this I got the idea that you are just referring to moving the bpv closer to the t/b.... is that what you're getting at?

Ok I just reread what you wrote. Your tuner is a dumbass. The only way you can vent to the atmosphere (which is what he is talking about) is to switch to a blow thru set up. If your MAF is before the S/C then you have to recirculate the blow off because it has already been metered by the MAF.

But it almost sounds, by the way he worded it, his tuner told him to mount the bpv in the s/c inlet.

You guys are way off...LOL The Bypass valve is mounted to the Inlet pipe (after the MAF before the S/C) and from the BPV there is a 12" hose that the BPV is also connected to a hose that is connected to the the intake pipe attached to T/B.

I drew a pretty picture, lol This is the way I have mine connected.

I know exactly what you are talking about and if your maf is before the S/C then you HAVE to bypass from the discharge tube to the intake tube. The only time you do not have to recirculate is if you blow off/bypass before the maf which means the maf is moved to the discharge tube for blow thru.

Just so you kno if you run a blow thru set up you will have better driveability and tuning.
