Hey all, love the forum!
I recently purchased a 2002 GT 2v with low milage (37K). When I purchased the car, the previous owner installed Borla cat back exhaust and a K&N CAI. I brought the car to the Dyno and results were 237.2 rwhp. I just finished a Pro 5.0 shifter, Tick Flow Plenum, Acufab 70mm TB, Steeda UDPs, UPR O/R x pipe and a FRP aluminum drive shaft. Night and day difference in performance! Ya think 30 more RWHP? I will Dyno it again to find out. My question is, with the new mods, what will an after market computer tune give me for gains, and is it worth it to go with a "custom" tune?

Is it an auto or stick?

A tuner will definitely help you. You can tune for 91/93 octane and get better performance right off the bat. You can also use the tuner for the life of your car to adjust or dial in a lot of things.

Most people go with the X3 because most dyno tuners use SCT products and later on if you want to have your car dyno tuned then it is very useful. I just bought a Sniper tuner. It gives you way more parameters and you have different versions to choose from. However, most dyno tuners don't use Sniper products so you will have a hard time getting a dyno tune with it.

Looks like one of the next things you might want to do is get new gears. It will make the biggest difference especaially for the price. 99-04 Mustangs use an electronic speedometer so once you change your gears your speedometer will need to be recalibrated. You can do this the easiest with a tuner.

Default Yup, gears...........

Thanks for the input, the 'Stang is a 5 spd, and while I was at it I put some of that "purple" stuff in the trans.

The X3 tuner is the one I want, but is it worth it to go with a "custom" tune on a Dyno initially instead of an "American Muscle" or "Bren Speed" tune?

Believe it or not, with the added power from the recent mods, it accentuated the poor factory GT suspension slop, so I will have to say that upper and lower rear control arms, springs, Bilsteins and maybe SF connectors are next, thay have to be, then GEARS!! (3.73's)

Wow you love to mod lol, it nots a bad thing though unless you dont show piccccsss.
Hey how do you like the Pro 5.0?

and personally i would get a sniper since you can tune it yourself which will over time save money.
