Default Saleen or Cobra?

Three part question:
Part 1: What Saleen models did they produce in '04?
Part 2: Does the Saleen edge out the Cobra in horsepower?
Part 3: What was the fastest production mustang in '04?

Thanks

fastest production mustang in 04 would be either the cobra, or the roush, not sure the hp specs on roush but i think roush is more then cobra, atleast stage 2-3 maybe. not sure which. as far as saleens, id go with a cobra. they had saleen s281 and sc281 or s281c not 100% positive. 1s just a regular gt with saleen kit and such, and then the sc281 is the supercharged 16v motor.

1)They did some basic mods and threw a body kit on it S281, For the 281E they gave it a supercharger, but they didn't do any internal upgrades and it wasn't a good supercharger.

2)no, the only exception may be the Saleen Cobra which is VERY RARE.

3)SVT Cobra, it's one of the best cars you can get for around under 20k.

roush made an a cobra stage 3 also.. the fastest in the 1/4 stock was the roush stage 3 GT if I recall, just an overall good setup, the cobra versions have the most potential out the box obviously.

I agree on the SC blowing hard, but the E does in fact have forged internals and a T 56.

Really? huum. I didn't know that, I thought that was only true for the saleen cobras.

Edit: I looked it up the Saleen 281SC has the S/C but not the forged internals, and The S281E Extreme does have some internal upgrades.

When did they make the Saleen Cobra and how rare are they? Also the Roush company had to do stages to be stronger then the Cobra where as the Cobra is just one model its self right?

If you plan on keeping the car and resale isnt that big of a deal modifying a cobra is the way to go. If you get an 03/04 cobra it wasn't cost much at all to get to 450+rwhp.

You quoted me but failed to answer my questions. I dont intend on getting a car for another couple months but I am looking at '04 Cobras and '03 M5's. I already knew about the potential of Cobras compaired to others but was interested in learning about other models that came out that year.
