Smoking on Cold Startup

Unless you like an annoying ticking noise dont switch to 10w30.
You need to diagnose whats going on before you jump on the **** patriot band wagon. Even MMR says that patriot makes a damn good head and they see 1% failure rate with them. So your odds are good its not the valve guides.
Take off the TB/plenum and look inside the intake. If you see black oil sludge and wetness then your pcv system is causing the problem. With more vacuum created by higher flowing heads, cams and exhaust it will pull more oil thru the pcv. Oil will get into the runners and over night drain down on top of the valves ready to make a smokey mess first start.
And to answer your question, to change the valve seals you can leave the heads on the car but the valve guides the heads will have to go to a machine shop.

Honestly i wouldn't doubt that I am in the 1% failure group I have horrible luck with anything automotive related.
But tomorrow I will take a look at my plenum and Probably invest in a catch can of some sort. Possibly the compressor oil catch, i thought that was a good idea.
The reason I think its the valve guide seals is the fact that the longer it sits the more it smokes. In that video the car had been sitting for about three days if i let it sit for one night its about 1/2 that.

LOL thats nothing. You should have seen my engine when my valve seals dry rotted from letting it sit for a year with royal purple in it. On first start up it will fill the neighbor hood with smoke and continue to smoke the whole time it was running.

I think we both know (suspect) the heads to be the problem. Even you recommend foxlake every time someone is talking about Patriot heads. You need to pull them and have them gone through. If the port job is good no real reason to start over just have the heads fixed.
How long have you had them, pull them and perhaps patriot will fix the problem, or at least give you the parts for free.
