Smoking on Cold Startup
#21
I have yet to call Patriot, I wanted to confirm it was the valve guides/valve guide seals before I chase them down.
I'll try calling them tomorrow if I rule out the PCV, but I don't know if they have office hours on the weekends.

Well I figured I'd bump this thread,
I finally got the valve guides replaced, heads decked, and got the missing keepers taken care of to try to stop the smoking on cold start up.
I got the car back yesterday, and its exactly as bad as when I first got it. I've also checked the PVC.
I've even considering selling the car at this point I just don't know what to do any more. Anyone have any suggestions, advice or ideas.

I don't think I'd feel comfortable putting that in my engine knowing that all it is is a super heavy weight oil, and all it does is thicken up your oil so it takes longer to get into your engine.
Also I really wouldn't want to blow another rod bearing by running the wrong weight...
