So if i buy a set of H&R lowering springs and a set of C&C plates, do i need to buy new shocks and struts? or can i get by without buying them?

I would recommend new shocks and struts on any drop because the factory ones kind of suck. But it depends on how much of a drop, here http://www.stangsuspension.com/store/springarticle.asp

Your car is 4 years old. I'd say replace them since you're going to be replacing the springs. It just seems like a PITA to replace the springs one year and then have to replace the shocks & struts one to two years later.

I would replace everything. I just put springs on my car last and the car rides rough.

I put on H&R SS springs with J&M C/C plates....that's it...handles fine. Rides a little more rough/stiff..oh well. =P You do not need to change shocks and or struts....but...that would be the "correct" way to do it.

Shorter springs will invariably have a higher spring rate. That's good, because it will handle better, and you have less range of motion. But it's also bad, because now you have a harsher ride. Life's full of trade offs.

i also put Eibach sportlines on and it rides better than stock (im my opinion). i didnt do shocks/struts only because my car had 25,000 miles and i probably wont until i hit like 75,000 because these are newer cars and the manufactures built these cars alot better than in the 60's.

and i hate the way people complain about how much harder the ride is with new springs, you shouldnt have lowered your vehicle because you must have know the ride wasnt going to be that great.
