Default from an 04' to a 97'

what would you think if i were to sell my 04' gt and buy a 97' gt.

the 04' is an automatic with about 45,000 miles (black), and the 97' is a stick with about 56,000 miles for $7,000 (white).

i kinda want to change things up but not sure about going older or staying with same body style but maybe a different color cause i HATE black, you can see all the swirls and water marks in the sun.

Why get rid of a 4.6 just to get another 4.6. I could see your point if you were to get a 5.0, but don't do it.

Your going to be disappointed with the NPI motor. Don't do it. Get a paint job if you hate black so much or sell your car for another GT that is a color you like.

Yeah, you're really gonna' be hating life if you trade down. NPI 'Stangs are so slow it's ridiculous-believe me I speak from experience. Unless the issue of color means that much to you?

Yeah. It seems like you just want to change cars because you want a stick and the 97 is cheap.

Just save up and trade in your auto for a nice good quality PI 5 speed.

What you really need to do is look at my sig...those transmission and rearend mods there will make your mustang faster than your run of the mill stock 5-speed npi or pi stang for that fact. There is a 45 hp difference here were talking about...that is a lot more than you think?

Well, everyone says no because of performance, but maybe thats not all that matters to the guy. Yes you're car will be slower, if you're willing to put money in it for cheap, they can be faster than the normal PI stang. Otherwise if you like the color, and the car seems straight (I'd try and get the price down some to at least $6.5k), go for it. The 96+ sn95s are about exactly the same other than looks and motor changes. 56k miles is rare for a sn95 GT nowadays.

That price is still too high even at 6500....If you want a 5sp, sell yours and find another low mileage PI Stang, unless you can get that price down and do a PI Swap.

I would trade down for a 96-98 cobra but definitely not a GT.

eh if it's retail and in pretty good condition you won't see much lower than that GTs with much higher mileage retail around here just start at $6.5k. Now if its a private party value I'd bring it to about $6k flat. I got my 96GT for $4.5k but it had rust underneath, was in a small wreck (crinkled metal under the hood), had a backyard paintjob, had 88k miles, automatic, pretty much the most basic GT (nothing power except mirrors, interior was in fair condition). Only mods were catback and 3.73s.
