Default Finally decided to purchase the SCT PRP

The past several years, I've used a local shop and their dyno to do all tuning on my vehicles (me doing the tuning), but since they are closing up this weekend I'm out of my hang out spot.

I have the 96 GT tuned pretty well with the new cams, but have a few minor idle and closed loop issues to adjust. So, I decided to pick up the SCT Pro Racer Package and a wideband to get this car running well for now, and have the ability to adjust after I drop in the 3V engine over the winter.

Anyone else using the same software, how do you like it?

I have never used it but have heard from guys that have. They say it is not for a beginner and not very user friendly. If you know what your doing already and know which tables do what then you should be good to go with it.

I've been tuning w/ sct's advantage software for yrs & wouldn't trade it for anything . what kind of idle & CL issues are you having ?

The tuning part is no problem, since I develop OEM cal's from scratch....

The typical surging/bucking in low RPM's with aftermarket cams with good amount of overlap.

Shouldn't take me long to get it sorted out, as the primary cause is the injector delay. Most tuners don't modify this parameter.

yes , you will want to lower injector delay by a good amount down low so fuel will be injected on closed intake valves . Spark is the biggest reason for unstable idle . our engines like to idle w/ really low timing w/ cams . In some cases 0 degrees . spark likes to jump around also w/ cams so that needs to be fixed too .

edit : never mind . I see you know what your doing .

I got the tuning aspect down, but thanks though!

Have you upgraded to Advantage III? I see SCT is getting nuts with their pricing on upgrades, but thank god this will be the only vehicle I'll need it for.

I upgraded as soon as it was released . when I upgraded it was only $100 per database . I know they raised the price for additional databases cuz people were tuning friends vehicles . I have since heard they dropped the price back down or are going to do so soon . I have 3 databases but luckily I got mine before the price increase .
