i took the factory cap from the egr tube and welded and piece of metal to the top of it for the delete. then made a plate that goes over the egr valve on the upper plenum. your going to need to get it retuned though because your going to throw codes from it.

ill tell you what a egr valve does so you can decide if you want to remove it or not.

the egr valve is an emissions control device that puts exhuast back through the intake manifold. this is done to decrease NOx emissions by decreasing cylinder temperatures. you will raise cylinder temp's by removing it which will require higher octane fuels and you will run much more effecient due to move air/fuel being able to fill the cylinder which could hurt gas possibly. so you will need a new tune to run the egr valve delete just due to these conditions. I got rid of it just because i thought it would be better. most people only gain a couple hp from it (1-3) and if your needing to pass emissions it would be a bad idea because they could read higher NOx and your HC readings could possibly be alittle higher due to having to add more fuel. Although, i will say many factory cars out there still do not have a EGR valve. such as several bmw's do not run them factory.

My car ran perfect after I ditched the EGR crap. No tuning issues, and it didn't affect how much timing I ran or anything. EGR effect is minimal if anything at all.

imo its just alot less hassle to deal with when you delete it. cause egr stuff is expensive when it breaks, so when you dont have it that takes the chance of having to replace it out.
