Default high mileage GT

I'm looking at a 97 GT that has 140,000 miles on it. I want to know how reliable are these 2v and what things typically go wrong with this high mileage of a car. I'd like if you guys could give me your personal experiences with the reliability of this model year car.

If taken care of they run fine, even at that mileage. If not taken care of, I'd expect stuff to start falling apart/going wrong with the car. A good way to find this out is see how many different owners the car had.

my car was beat to death its whole life.... 160k miles and its done pretty good....leaky head gasket when i got it, not blown through to the chamber, just leaky at the corner so it didnt affect performance or anything, but i fixed it as preventative maintenance....and i just took my car to the dragstrip and destroyed my spider gears launching the **** out of it....over all its not horrible....but it aint no honda

I don't know what was done with my car.. but I bought it from an idiot 23 year old punk at 47k and the motor blew 1k later... I was the fourth owner, however.

A 97 with 140k on it? Shhhhhhhhh**t, my 02 has 126k on the clock. Drive the car and see how it rides. If they don't want to much for it, jump on it and lets start modding that bitch. Come on man..............peer pressure is a bitch.

What price can you get it for? If the price is good, what condition is the Body and interior? If its good, buy it and buy what you want to put in the engine.

I guess I'll have to setup a date to test drive it.
