i found a place near me that only does work with heads and cams. They told me that they would port my heads for 1 thousand bucks. is this resonable, good deal, ripoff? my friend with a GT wants to do the asame. i might go at them with the offer of porting both for 1600, 800 each, is this a good deal for me and will they probably accept it?

hell no. your heads dont need porting. im pretty damn sure your nowhere near their max flow rate

You have to reach max flow rate before porting does anything to for your heads?!?! Never heard that one before, you should explain yourself.

u will gain hp even if ur not at your max flow rate. u got alot of mods done so they will help. porting is something that is real good for when you cam a car, it puts the extra lift of the cam to good use.

im still sure his heads dont need porting. he has 4 valves. no i could see some use in a 2v head but for 1600 it would not be worth the gains. you could pick up a FR500 intake for that or some bitchin cams.


so explain to me why porting his heads right now would be worth the $2000 or $1600
