Default heads and cams swap

i have a 02 gt. and i just got stage 3 cams from com cams. im in the process of doing the swap. im gonna go with the porting route. and i no i gotta do something bout the pistons cuz those cams will hit. but my question is how hard is it to take the heads off everything is off except the timing chain and the right calve cover. im also doing intake manifold. im gonna do all this while the motor is still in the car if posibile. if any one can go over with me the steps or anythin i will appreciate it. i got the repairt book but i dont understand that timing chain part

Reading your post makes my head hurt. I understand that you have stage III cams from comp, but what stage heads are you going with.

Their is a sticky on how to build your own engine. I would check that out and hope you get those pistons notched. Just follow the steps backwards.

Well if you plan on running a bigger shot of nitrous or some sort of F/I in your future you would benefit from the forged bottom end while you have the motor apart. If I were you I would forge the bottom end with a nice set of dished pistons to bump that compression up because nitrous loves it unless you plan on running boost. Up to you tho champ.

If you put cams and port the heads with 125 shoot. That bottom end is not going to last.Maybe not one time.

+1, you will be pushing it with H/C/I + a 125 shot. I would either back the shot down some or forge the motor. You may get away with it, but that's too close for me to risk.
