Default P.I question..port and polish?

im doin a full P.I swap on my 98 gt. iv got everything for it ready to do on. do i need to port and polish the heads? i herd it helps and great deal if u do. if i dnt have to then i mite not. anyway so should i? or should i not? and if so does it need to be tuned. all of the parts are stock of a 2001 gt. thax..any answers will be helpful!

Porting is not needed to complete the swap, but it will give even more hp gains if you do. You can drive the car on 93 octane w/o a tune, but again a tune will net more hp gains and safer air, fuel ratios at wot.

as stated above there is no need to port the heads but it is well worth the extra money. i say do it while you have the engine apart. go for some better cams also and sell the ones you have
