5th Gear Rattle - Shifter?
I have the MGW short shifter for a couple months now. About 2-3 weeks ago when I shift into 5th gear and while it stays in 5th, I can hear a rattle. I took off the boot and didn't see anything loose on top. Any ideas what's loose? If I take off the 4 bolts, are there more screws underneath that might be possibly loose.
Again, it's 5th gear only and it's more present when it's cold. It's not a grinding, but a very noticeable rattle.
Also my shifter is pretty noisy. Sounds like a light hissing as if air is getting out or something. No noise at idle, but when the revs climb it gets pretty noticeable.
Any ideas???

I have the Pro 5.0 shifter and it's great. There is a whining noise that comes from it occasionally but that my friend, is just your tough transmission at work. Turn up the radio. Only a stock shifter is designed with all that rubber to insulate the noise. throw some layers of dynomat under the plastic bevel to shut that noise up if it really bothers you.
