Default Tri-ax "squeak"???

Well search revealed nothing for me.

I installed a steeda tri-ax into my 96 t-45. when im shifting i get a weird squeak. i put on a new **** at the same time from FRP and i took that off and used the stock one and still got the same squeak. so i took the **** off and also the boot and drove it around and still got the squeak. so i know its coming from the shifter itself. my question is if anyone else gets this? it kids sounds like plastic rubbing on rubber. i think its the springs inside the shifter making the noise but im not sure. thanks guys

Get a video, man! Does it happen right as it's sliding into place? Any particular gears that don't do it?

I've never heard of anything like that. When you installed it, did you make sure everything was tight? The shifter being aluminum and it comes greased shouldn't make any noise.

alright guys got it figured out. the shift arms bolts to the shifter arm coming up from the trans, well there is a small rubber piece they have you put between the two when u attatch it, well that was making it squeak just a little bit, took it out, bolted the arm straight up to the base plate and no more squeakage
