Default New X-Pipe is a little smelly

I just had a shop install a new SLP catted x-pipe on my '04 gt today, and I smell something now when the car heats up; almost like a plastic type smell. I was wondering- is a unique smell from this expected (maybe new cats/pipes?), or are the wires perhaps melting somewhere near the new pipe?

Thanks!

It should go away after about 100 miles or so. Mine did the same thing.

ya new cats give off a burnt like smell and your exhaust may smoke a bit for a little while, also enjoy those speed bumps you'll be scraping on all the time now. Slp low hanging midpipes FTL
