Default Difference between performance chips and programmer

Im thinking about buying a jet performance chip for my stang, i can get one for around a $100 and i was wondering what the real difference is between the chip im gonna get and a programmer. I should basically see the same hp increase from them correct? I just dont want to spend upwards of close to $400 for the same peformance i can get for less.

the tuner re flashes your computer it will give you more gains too just save the mony and get the predator tuner in glad i did if you ever put a mid pipe on you can disable the rear o2 sensors, if you get gears it will recalibrate your speedometer, and its will also work for diagnostics just buy the tuner you'll be glad you did

jet chips suck! dont get one! they dont do anything. people with the hemi rams are puttin them on expectin 20 hp and they show up as 0 rwhp gain on the dyno! the programmers however give about 10 rwhp in them. programmer is the way to go for you. i have seen a M3's motor run over lean from the jetchip and the motor just blew. had to get a whole new motor from the damage to it, wasnt rebuildable. i dont trust jetchips.

I've heard that the hp ratings of chips is way over rated but never heard of them causing an engine to go out. I had a hypertech in my camaro and it was fine, i never tried a jet, guess there no good
