Default 00 Gt, problems...?

Ok I just got an 00 GT convertible, I'm selling the 05 V6. Well in my Gt, whenever I first start driving the car any time I turn the steering wheel the is a god awful sound. My friend said it might be the power steering fluid is low, but he isn't sure. Would that make it make sounds???

I know nothing tech-wise...

Another problem, I think... When I am going 50+ MPH there is this sound coming from the car. Sounds like it is coming from the left side. The sound that comes from the car sounds like if you take a pience of aluminum foil and hold it in a fan, or the rim of a bicycle.

And finally, a light on the dash. I don't have the manual (didn't come with the car) so I don't know what that light means. It looks like an 'X' inside of a square with a squiggly line near the top.

BTW, its an automatic.

A. First, check the power steering fluid level, if it is normal then it is probably the PS pump.

Q2. I know nothing tech-wise...

A. No Kidding......

A. It is probably due to a leak from the exhaust manifold (or headers?.) gasket.

Q4. And finally, a light on the dash. I don't have the manual (didn't come with the car) so I don't know what that light means. It looks like an 'X' inside of a square with a squiggly line near the top.
It means that there is a radiator problem, you better find out. Man, it looks like that car is totally messed up, how many miles does it have. Mine is also a Gt vert from 2000 with 47, 000 miles and moderately modified and so far no biggy. Good luck.

the coolant light is probably just a bad sensor in the reservoir. i just had mine fixed for the same problem.

Well it hasn't had any problems with drivability so far. So do you think it might be the same thing as yours? Theres been no overheating or anything.

I'm going to take it to a Ford dealership and have them check it out, I bought it from a Dodge place.

if it isn't overheating and the coolant isn't low then it's probably a sensor.

It means you have low coolant, fool!

Q2. I know nothing tech-wise...

Come on now. No need for that. You're the one whol told him the low coolant light meant he a radiator problem [&:]

As far as the noise goes, if it were a header leak, you'd be able to hear it at all speeds. park in a garage and turn your car on (make sure the door is open. If you can hear the ticking when you step on the gas, it is an exhaust leak.

So you bought a car that had a check engine light on? This doesn't make much since.

BTW, your gonna take a beating on that V6 when ya sell it.
