Default My car idling is acting weird after installing cold air intake....

I have a 2002 Ford Mustang GT. I recently installed a k&n cold air intake. When i turn on my car it idles around 1,100 rpm. Then when the engine gets warmed up sometimes on a red light it drops down to 500 rpm. Could it be the MAF or is it the IAC. thanks

Make sure that you unplugged the battery when you did the install. The computer has to "relearn" the new flow characteristics of the intake you put in.

Just un plugg the battery and stomp the brake pedal a few times. Wait a couple of minutes and put the battery back on.

I hope that works out for ya.....nothing more annoying than a surging idle.

Are you sure you got all of the hoses back on the intake tube? Also make sure that you did not cross them up.

U could have a hole somewhere in the set up. or lose clamp.

Clean the MAF and IAC with electrical cleaner and make sure you hooked everything back up. From what you're telling me sounds like you're runing the straight shot intake.

Check the hoses first make sure you put them on right. No need to unplug the battery to reset the ecu, you would need a tuner. That was only on the older 4.6's. The hoses should be hook up like this pic.
