Default Tuners

Hey everyone, long time lurker, first thread.

After I get my hands on those last bolt-ons(Headers and UDP) I wil be in need of a Tuner. After looking around I have found the SCT Live-Wire to be the most outstanding. I am in love with the idea of being able to store three seperate tunes. This is a feature reserved for cars such as the M5. The ability to switch between those modes is the truly a great concept.

Personally I would have:
91 Tune (Fuel Saver)
91 Tune (Power)
100 Tune (For those days at the track)
A Mobile five miles north sells the 100 Octane Street Blaze, 8.169 a Gallon!

Now I realize that those three seperate tunes won't do much on my 00 GT 2v, but I hope to build a ~370rwhp 4v Stroker in the not too distant future. With that engine dropped in, the 3 custom tunes would be ideal for me. (40 mile commute in SoCal, I need that Fuel Saver Tune)

At 570 bucks its not cheap. I would like to hear your guy's own accounts with the SCT tuners. Is the Livewire as good as it sounds, is it worth it? What other devices should i take a look at?

I have a SCT X-cal 2. I can't compair it to any other tuner 'cause I only need one. I don't use it for data logging. Its nice to use for checking codes but its only purpose is to make my car run.

I had SCT X-Cal and Sniper Special Forces...if you can get a dealer to open up all the parameters on the SCT (which no dealer will do BTW) then I would probably get that because you won't need a computer to write a file...however, I think the Sniper is more user friendly and fool proof...

The SCT is a outstanding tuner. Off the tuner subject I see that your future mods will be gears. If you're going to get gears, especially a auto, get 4:10's.

I wouldn't waste my money on the livewire...

Just get a Xcal2 or 3... and leave it at that.
