Off the subframe subject, got a crack in my bell housinhg nothing big but before it get's worse I need to get it fixed. Went to the Ford dealer, hoping that it would be covered under warranty, the tech said that it could be welded. Does that sound right to you guys?

Ask around and find a guy who can do aluminum. Most welding shops can do aluminum, but theres usually one guy around every area who excels at it. find that guy.

Yeah the guy that's installing my gears and doing the subframe told me where to go. He would do it but he said that he dosen's weld aluminum. Do you guys know if the bell housing is easy to take off?

I honestly wouldn't be to concerned with your bell-housing, I have golfball sized hole in mine.

But as has been said above if you want to get if fixed just find someone that is skilled at tig welding.

you cant remove it, its got an integral bellhousing. Youd have to haul the whole tranny to the welder

I haven't had any issues, my hole is on the top side so I don't think it's really hurting anything, It's been like that since I got the car and I even hunted down the original owner (a friend of mine) and asked him about it, he said he had never had the trans out of the car. so IDK

Enjoy your movie.

SOLDIERGT, i dont want to be a hater, but you keep talking about putting a dent in your pocket or wallet or whatever, have you ever considered doing some of the work yourself instead of always taking your car to someone. you would learn alot while your doing it and save a **** load of money
