Default buying cobra brakes for GT

so i found someone selling cobra brakes at a good price and my question is are they a direct bolt on to my 2004 gt or do i need a mounting bracket. they come with the calipers, 13in rotors and the brake lines. will they clear my 17 FR500 rims?

i believe they are direct bolt on's. and yes your 17's should clear it. not all wheels are the same with dimension but i have not heard of anyone hitting the calipers with their 17's as of yet.

17s are the smallest rims u can use with those brakes....u will be fine....

if u have the entire front caliper, that will directly bolt on, u will need to change out the frnt brake line too.....the back is a diff story you will need, caliper mounting brackets, moan braces, dust shields, dust shield Bolts

do you just want them for looks (since your wheels are so open)? I know its a little off your topic but I was just curious why you were buying them (considering your current power level).

Well if he can get them at a good price why not grab them while you can? I mean come on upgrading the brakes is good thing right?

im buying them because my brakes now are squeaking and suck real bad(as we all know gt brakes arent the best) so i was going to have to change out the rotors and pads and for a few more bucks why not go with the cobra brakes.

and i asked about the clearance because i remember seeing somewhere that some bigger brakes wouldn't clear FR500 rims, not sure which ones but i think they were something like wilwood or brembo. and yes these brakes are coming with the brake lines that it needs. just wasn't sure if i needed a front bracket to mount them.

gotcha, sounds like a good idea then. They will look pretty sick with those wheels. Good luck.
