Default oil pump for procharged 4.6

i was jsut wondering if i should run a melling high volume oil pump for my procharged 2 valave build...now should i run the regular melling oil pump or dish out the extra cash for the cobra high volume one...ill be running 12lbs of boost to start, after that ill upgrade my tranny and do a complete fuel system overhaul so i can boost higher...i dont plan on running any higher then 20lbs eventually...any suggestions???

The FRPP high volume pump should do fine and it's like 51 bucks however, if you are not pulling the block not worth the hassle as the GT oil pump is fairly strong if you are a street/strip person. If you road race you might run into problems

You said you "will be" running as if you are not procharged yet. Even to run 8lb you will need a fuel system overhaul, at least ford gt or svt fuel pump, injectors, and maf. To do 12, you will need twin corba fuel pumps, and even larger injectors. And at that time you will need forged internals or the fuse on that rotating assembly will be lite. A oil pump should be on your list on things to buy, but your going to need a built short block to run that kind of boost. If you do end up running that kind of boost you will have a new oil pump from your shiney new short any how. Give us more info on your build:

Are you supercharged yet?
Are you running stock rotating assembly?
What is your HP goal?
What stage of the build are you at?

He has a built block, ported heads, 2.5 cms blower cams, plenty of fuel for the power he wants right now.

I know because I am building his car for him.

Doug I can't believe you don't trust me when I told you to just get the $50 cobra pump.
