HOLY ****!!! Its 11:20 now and Im sitting back after a long day or changing all the fluids out of my new 1996 Mustang GT!!!!! This thing is a freaking gem. The guy called me today about about 8:30 and was like well I know im getting screwed but I dont need the car and I know how much you would like the car, and plus im a big Cubs fan too. Thats exactly what he said. And so he asked if I still would pay $4000 and then he told me to come pick it up because its your car now. I was like holy ****. I'll get some pics, and best of all I get to keep my 2000 too. If the intake cracks it just gives me an excuse to start modding earlier... Anyway you can tell im excited. Im off to sleep.

I think 90 was the first year of 4.6, with the new designed Town Car, I had a 91 Town Car it had duals and the 4.6 SOHC.

Congrats on the find..it sounds like a good deal. My friend has a 96Gt and he runs it hard every day. He has had no problems except the intake cracking(twice). Post up those pics!

I will after I rip this damn alarm system out!! Hahaaha I need some help with it. I posted in General Tech under Alarm System Help. Thanks man It only took me about 2 years to save that much. From umpire, to consession stand worker, to Hardees drive thru. It was all worth it!

And I paid for the entire car myself so my parents are pretty proud of me.

yea... buying the older body style is better i think now... i still do like my body style more for some reason, thats the only reason why i went with my body style stang. otherwise i would have went with a 98 cobra. but for the older GT's... you can get a really good price on it and make it a badass car for the price you would buy a new PI car.

My insurance drops now because this car takes the 2000 off as a daily driver, and they are mostly worried about the age of the vehicle.

Just drove it around the neighborhood a little bit and I love this thing. Power is insane compared to my modded 6. I jacked up the car to check everything and I noticed the pumpkin said it has a 3.27 rear end? I thought these models came with 3.08 or something? I still have to flush the radiator and find that damn alarm system. I'm going to get a wire diagram and just see if I can find wires that are not supposed to be on the car....and then rip that **** out!!!...I'll double check before I do that though.

Some people say if you pull off the air horn you get a few free horse power. I know it sure sounds better!!

Are the stock horns located in the drivers side fender behind the drivers headlight assembly??? Im getting someone my mom knows who has a 1996 Mustang GT to come over and we'll check the wires, because he doesnt have an alarm system.

Congrats I just bought a 96 GT about three weeks ago 5-spd laser red and it's going to be my daily driver well I mod up my 92. Mine just turned a 100,000 miles and runs great my auto instructor said besides the plastic intake these engines run for a while. He used to work on police vehicles/ Crown Vic's and they wouldnt get rid of them till they had like 250,000 miles on them. He also said they like to burn a little oil after high miles but they are a pretty reliable engine.
