What's the deal? If you run through a puddle your engine will blow? I have heard that the water needs to be as deep as the top of the rim on your tire before you have to start worrying. Is this true? Anyone with experience in this happening?

Ive heard some stories....but I just think if your somewhat careful when you drive in the rain you won't have anything to worry about. Honestly since CAI's are worth jacksquat in the horsepower category, just get a K&N filter and screw the chances of hydrolock you get with a fenderwell intake.

Rain doesn't matter, we're talking about you driving through a damn x amount off feet tall puddle..in which case you deserve to have your engine shot and your self respect shattered.

I have never heard of that. I had a cold air intake on my old mustang and got stuck on a road where a river had flooded the street and the water was up to like the top of the tires, and the cops were forcing people to drive through it and i didn't have any problems. I would assume that if your not aiming for the puddles to hard you'll be alright. But if it is true i guess i got freakin lucky.
