Default totally different!!

well, i was goin w/a good rebuild and a kenne bell blower set up, but after much discussion w/a friend of mine, i've decided to do a rebuild w/ nitrous! my question is, with a really good rebuild,(heads, pistons etc....) could i use a 275-300hp nitrous kit? or is that too much for a 4.6 2v? if so whats the max hp to go with? thanks for any and all advice or help!!

lol that is nothing and much less than you would make with a Kenne Bell, unless you ment 275-300 shot... either way i'd go f/i.. there was a big debate thread about this recently, your question doesn't really make sense... nitrous is applied in shots, not HP and you will see different HP gains depending on supporting mods as you would with anykind of forced induction, as long as you forge your internals theres really no roof to how much power you can make, you can make as much power as the internals you decide to buy can handle (it will say whenever you go to look at the part online, or in person (ask someone ))

you're correct! 275-300! and i did mean shot not hp! so if all the internals are built right i could go w/a bigger "SHOT" lol! thanks for tha input and correction!!

yes exactly and same goes for a supercharger such as a kennebell, you could turn the boost up and make more power as long as your internals are forged, with nitrous you would use a higher compression build with a s/cer you would use a lower compression build but there are limits to how high and low you can go

oh and you will also need fuel upgrades, as well as MAF and such, More power requires more AIR/FUEL so you will need bigger injectors and a new fuelpump capabable of pumping out however much fuel your application calls for, same goes for the injectors.

your numbers wont always b consistant, but just keep an extra bottle handy, and b sure to use a bottle heater and that will solve that. i researched for a long time between f/i and nitrous. im very happy i went with the nitrous kit. nitrous makes better numbers than f/i from what i have found. i have had a 150hp wet shot on my gt for about 2 yrs now. on the dyno, i got a 141hp gain, and around 167 torque gain and thats on my stock gt motor.

incase i was completely wrong ( and i could have been) does higher compression yeild more gains from nitrous or just in general?

example 240whp(stock ) +150 shot = roughly 390?

310whp(bumped compression/built +150shot = roughly 460hp?

someone please set me stright

haven't ran a bottle on my car yet, as I don't have much experience with doing it on these motors, I know smaller shots are no problem, especially if you have or tracked down the improved rods from the newer engines.

but I have seen the aftermath of people who try to push it, I would definatly recomend all of the fail safes if your going to run a big shot, even the greatest of us have moments where we honestly don't know what the **** we were thinking =D And I'd hate to see your car pay for it.

Keep us up to date with how the rebuild goes though, I'm really interested what you decide to put together, and what your results are.

./edit

So uhh.. What's up with those old injectors after you buy your new ones?
I got these cheese burgers...
