Starting engine after changing oil
Ive been working on my car for a while now and its always kinda bothered me. it seems like there would be hardly no lubrication in the motor right after you change your oil. What have you guys done? I think i heard of someone buying a key w/o a chip in it so that it turns over the engine(lube it up) without actually firing. Thoughts? Or am i just paranoid?

One thing you can do is pre-lube the filter. Instead of dumping the last quart into the oilpan, dump some into your filter, just enough that it starts to get into the element itself, then go ahead and screw it back into place, dump the remainder into the engine and viola! Now it won't be without lubrication as long since little time will be spent with the engine trying to fill the filter while running.

Youve obviously never had an engine apart.
Theres plenty of oil left on the internals dont worry.
Ive got a 308 on the stand i pulled and disassembled months ago its still got oil dripping off the lower end.

When you empty the pan there is still a good amount of older oil in the engine. If you are that concerned I usually let the car sit 15-20 minutes after I button everything back up so the new oil can work its way from the top of the motor down to the pan.

There really isnt anything to worry about, but if your super paranoid, just hold the gas pedal to the floor and crank the motor for 10 seconds. Let it sit for a minute and crank it again. You should have oil pressure by then, and you wont hear any clanking when you start it. I personally never prime the system after an oil change on gas motors, but thats just me.
