Default Weird squeaking noise when I turn the wheel

I don't know if this is a problem or if something needs adjustment or oil. In the last couple of days when I turn my wheel there is a loud squeaking noise that sounds like it's coming from the front wheels. I have a loud exhaust but when the windows are down I can hear the squeaking over that. Does anyone have an idea of what this maybe.

P.S. It's a 99' GT auto with pullies and aftermarket brakes

Check your power steering fluid.

It seems like the steering fights with me all the time. It was like that when I bought it. I will check the fluid to be on the safe side. How exactly will I know if it needs changing will is be low or a different color etc. And if it doe do I drain the old fluid out from the bottom of the car or something. Sorry for all the dumb questions but I rather seem dumb that have a damaged car. I wish I could check right now but I'm at work.

Low PS fluid will cause a growling noise that get louder the harder you turn the wheel, and hard steering.
A squeeking or squeeling noise indicates a belt slipping, have someone watch while you turn the wheel all the way to one side and hold it there a few seconds (not long, not good for the pump)

Just add fluid to it, does not have a drain plug.

Thanks for the info I will try to fix this problem today. Hopefully thats the problem, it's sounds more like a squeaking instead of growling. Almost like someone is slowly pushing open a door that's a little rusted at the hinges.

you have 2 nuts that hold the rack & pinion to the car, they have rubber bushings in them, try to tighten the nuts 17 or 18mm i dont remember and see if it still does it, if u r still under warenty have the bushings replaced, this is what happend to me

Check to see if your outer tire rods still have grease.. The rubber bushing on that when it gets dry and starts to crack it will make alot of noise also when turning and such..

You can get the ones with a spicket to re-apply grease when bad..
