Ninja post:

Just so I do not break anything, let me make sure I grasp what you're trying to convey

The tensioner pulley . . .tighten that back down, without the belt attached. Route the belt and then from there, attach a 3/8ths to the bolt in the middle of the tensioner pulley, rotate clockwise (to the right) and that will crank the pulley over?

This one here . . .

I don't see any other pulley that moves, and I believe that bolt only loosens and tightens the pulley onto the motor. I don't want to snap the bolt, so if I'm doing this wrong, please stop me, I'm not feeble but I'm definitely no master tech, LOL!

See that square hole up near the actual pulley part? Put a breaker bar into that.

SWEET! Yeah, one of the guys on Grassroots Motorsports was like "Wrong hole" . . .I was like "Yeah, story of my life."

It's peculiar because the belt is just slightly off, so it doesn't make sense. It's not like a HUGE difference, I mean, literally, if the belt were 2 to 4 inches longer, it would have cleared no problem.

I wonder if the Bullitt and GT drive belts are different. I know the Bullitt's have under drive pulleys, but the SOHC engine should be the same across the board for all 99-04 Mustangs, right?

I dunno, at least I can drive my car again!

Thanks a ton guys, I was ready to just sell the damn thing I was so frustrated!

Ha, so thats what you were doing. Howd you gt the belt off? You have to rotate the tensioner at the end, not the bolt!! Your lucky you didnt snap it clean off.

Nah, I pried the tensioner up with a bar. I see what you were saying though. I'm still finding it peculiar that the belt wouldn't fit.

It's also odd that the GT and Bullitt drive belt have the SAME part number. Should they vary IF the Bullitt's really did get under drive pulleys from the factory?

I still need to replace the belt, I guess I'll just buy a longer one.
