Default Gear install cost

I live just south of Raliegh, NC. and the only shop I can find to do a gear swap on my '03 GT is a place called Fastlane Motorsports. They said they can do the install W/ 4.10 gears, Abbot, plus 3 Qrts of Royal purple gear oil, Ford racing friction modifier and a recalibration for 700.00 Bucks! So am I just living in another world or does this seem a little/alot
steep for what I would get? Is anyone out there in the Raliegh area that knows of a decent shop that doesnt want my 1st born child to work on Mustangs? Thanks

That price seems a bit steep.

My installer provided all FRPP parts and Synergyn Gear Oil and charged me $500 complete for 8.8 4.10's.

500 is prob a "fair average" for parts and labor , labor usually averages 200/250

$700 seems very high...bud, you're in the "heartland" of racing...should be able to find a shop to install the gears for $250-300...With Royal Purple you do not need the friction modifer! ...4.10's can be founf for $150...look around!

Hey man I paid $350.00 and eventhough it sounds a little exspensive I got good warranty and I knew that this guy would do it right. Took about 3-6 hrs to complete. Good choice on the 410's. I had 373's and the 410's are most def the way to go..

I paid $100... 4 years ago. The shop owner had a special forum member discount. ($200 was original) Car still runs like champ. I would pay $300 max for the job, though.
